However, looking at the wider retail landscape, Ms Shuttleworth described overall Christmas results as "steady" rather than "stellar." While food retailers likely thrived, the clothing sector remains varied, with predictions of more High Street departures in the coming weeks. Indeed, the broader retail picture remains challenging. Just this week, the companies behind Claire's and The Original Factory Shop entered administration, putting 2,500 jobs at risk. This highlights the tough environment many retailers face, a stark contrast to Next's recent festive cheer.
